2 Timothy 2:21 ~ If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
This is one of my life verses, especially considering my name, “noble, purpose,” is in it. All in all, this verse is just a constant reminder to me that at any given moment, I want to be useful for a noble purpose. In order to do so, I must be in alignment with Christ, free from those things a mentioned in chapter two, starting at verse 14, continuing through the end of the chapter. My mind, heart, and spirit must be lined up with the things of the Lord, because if their is any lack, the opportunity may be missed. God’s purpose for you is deepened when your life is in line with His word. Live in such a way on purpose for His purpose.
Ephesians 5:14-17~ This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Long story short, there is no time to waste, no time to sleep. Whatever God has purposed for you to do WAKE UP and get to it. This dark world needs the Light in you. There is so much work to be done, so let’s get to it. And whatever you don’t know, ask God and He will show you.
Psalm 46:10a ~ He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.
At some point our minds and bodies will be all over the place when try to juggle all that is happening in our lives. If we don’t try to take things in our own hands, we instead exhaust our minds trying to sort things out. Still, a purpose-filled life, although it requires us to move and not be complacent (Amos 6:1a), there are times God wants us to just BE STILL. If you are like me, it’s easier said than done, but that moment we surrender and take a step back and let God do His thing, there is nothing greater to see.
Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
God’s purpose in life is not to hurt you or fail you. God’s purpose is to give you hope in knowing that He has everything under control, and a future that you can greater appreciate after coming through struggle. His purpose is to bless you. You just have to let Him and watch Him do so in His time in His way.
Luke 22:42 ~ “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
In every part of our lives, we must acknowledge the Lord. We may not always like, let alone understand what He’s doing. Many times it won’t feel good, just ask Jesus, who prayed this prayer right before his journey to Calvary. Truth be told, many times we want to pull out and do things our way. Still, God always has a greater purpose that we may not see on this side of glory. We must learn to submit to His will in the good times and the bad times. What if Jesus did what his flesh wanted him to and back out of going to the cross? God has a greater purpose.
Luke 1:45 ~ Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
The Holy Spirit recognized the faith in two women. When Elizabeth shouted this, Mary had just told her that she was pregnant with the Messiah. It was such a great miracle that to not believe what the angel had told Mary, would make sense. Yet, she her faith pleased God and she was blessed. It’s one thing to just hear what God’s purpose is for your life; it’s another thing to believe it.
Psalm 138:8 ~ The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
Whatever the Lord’s purpose is for your life, He promises to see it through. Even when you get in trouble and life throws us curve balls, as for David, we have to trust that He will cover and protect us and see His purpose come through in our lives.
Philippians 1:6 ~ …being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
This has become one of my favorite verses. It’s a reminder that God will accomplish what He set out to do. What He starts, He will finish. When we are confident in that, as Paul said, it reassures us that God won’t just leave us hanging. So keep going, believing that the purpose God has put inside of you, it will come to pass.
Joshua 21:45 ~ Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
If God said it, that settles it. He is a promise keeper, and His word does not and will not fail. Trust Him, because even when we do, He never goes back on His word, so be patient and wait on Him.
Deuteronomy 31:8 ~ And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
You may be scared of the purpose and vision God has placed in you. As a child of God, you are covered, and with the promised help of God Himself, you can do it. As the Israelites were going into battle, Joshua was getting ready to take Moses’ place and leading the people and was afraid. Moses encouraged him with this verse. Even though God had proven Himself many times before, as with us, Joshua needed to be reassured of his purpose of leading the people of Israel. As God promised to be with Joshua, so will He be with you.
Joshua 1:8-9 ~ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Just as the Lord told Joshua, God’s purpose for your life is illuminated more and more as you read His word and apply it to your life. More so, in following His word your life will be blessed and you will have no reason to be afraid in fulfilling the greatness of His will for your life. With God you can be confident and courageous in facing whatever hurdles or obstacles, because He will be right there alongside of you. Your purpose will succeed. You will succeed.
Roman 11:29 ~ For God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.
Simply put, no matter how far you have strayed or what you have done in your past, God has not changed His mind about you. If you let Him, He will rock your world and do things in, by, through, and for you that you could never have dreamed.
Genesis 50:20~You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Beth Moore put it this way, “your pain will not exceed your purpose.” That is so profound to me because many of us wonder “why me?” Why do we have to suffer and go through so much, many times all at once? If it’s not one thing, it’s another. This very verse comes from Joseph reminds us that God will use our pain and tears to do amazing things to break the chains of others.
Ephesians 3:20 ~Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.
Maybe your vision or your purpose seems impossible, or way too big for you to ever see it through. But my love, even your biggest dream, God’s purpose is to blow your mind and help you to achieve even bigger, wilder, and better things. Put it in God’s hand on purpose, knowing that He will see His dream or your dream come true.
Romans 8:31 ~ What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
No matter what, if God says “yes,” that’s the only “yes” you need; everyone else’s “no” is irrelevant. Whatever He has in store for you, no one can destroy it despite how hard they may try, because the God of the universe is on your side.
